i have to paint a “landscape” for art and i need some help?

i was told to get a picture of a landscape to paint in watercolor. i can’t really find anything worth painting. i want something kind of creepy looking. like maybe with fog or just dark and gloomy, but i’m open to all suggestions. any links to some good photos would be appriciated. 8)

Who are the top 5 most influential American (U.S.) Painters?

American art pre-20th century is largely overlooked, so I’d be fascinated to see what people thought the top 5 most influential/important artists were in our nation’s history.

Those considered American should be citizens (Marcel Duchamp can be included in one’s list), but then the issue gets blurred with those that were expatriates (Paris was the major art center before New York City) as well as those who may have spent the majority of their careers in the U.S. but were never naturalized.

Feel free to make additional comments/criticisms on these details.
I would also love to know what your reasoning is for the rankings.

What do Africans think about African americans?

Somebody asked this question and i think for me it would sound a lot more accurate if it said black americans. Black means something totally different for south africans. I’m a black South African. I believe that everybody that answered that question were non African. So in response to their responses: note that each person can think for themselves. The media gives me the impression that black americans are loud and the only thing they know is beating down somebody. Every sentence they make has the F word in it. Lol and the celebrities are good looking untill we see them live here in our country). I heard some of them saying their good looking because they’re mixed. Quite frankly in SA you’d just be called colored not black, and no i should think most south africans have quite a fair skin( not that being dark skinned is an issue), making you a different race all together. And for your information South Africa has some damn beautiful people and i’m not talking about people in videos. What i’ll say is that like some other every other race in my country, i like hip hop and the hood slang, but sometimes its just ridiculous and nasty, though this is true i treat everybody with the respect they deserve. I like a lot of american things because we have a lot of them on tv, well at least used to be lot. But i like being South African because i actually know my roots. I’m Zulu my first language is Zulu and i know what i am, Black with no hesitation. Oh another thing is that me being black american would make me open for stereotyping, no thanks. I did this via my phone so it might be a little odd.

Question about college options?

I just turned 23 a couple months ago and I figured it’s probably time for me to get off my lazy a$$ and think about my future. The thing is I have no clue where to start. I have a near full time job right now and I think going to college would seriously affect my ability to make decent income while still attending so I’ve been considering online courses. The thing is I don’t know any good sites or if online courses are frowned upon at all versus campus courses or if it doesn’t matter. I also have no clue what I want to do. My interests/hobbies are art, videogames, and I enjoy the outdoors (wildlife and parks). Taking into account where our economy in the US is at, I’m not sure how smart it would be to pursue some of my interests though. If anyone could give me some good pointers that would be great. Thanks for any feedback! ;D

What does BMA stand for when working toward a bachelor of art?

Ive recently changed my major to something completely different. Since I am no longer active duty Navy Police Ive decided to quit pursuing my degree in criminal justice and go for something Id be a little more satisfied with- a bachelor of art. I think BFA stands for bachelor of fine arts.

So here are my questions:
When working toward a degree in art, what do BFA and BMA stand for and what is the difference between the two?
