Complicated itunes / ipod Album Art Question?

This is a rather complicated question so I hope someone can help me. I have a 5th gen video ipod and run itunes (latest version 7.5) on Windows XP. I keep all my music on my home computer, syncing it daily with my ipod. I take my ipod to work and attach it to my PC there so I can listen through the speakers. I have to switch my ipod to the Manually Manage Music to be able to play it on that machine. What I want to do is see all the album artwork as I play them on that machine but only the artwork for music I have bought from itunes shows up on the work computer. All the art is on my ipod because if I listen to it detached from the PC all my art shows up on it. And I do have my ipod set to sync the album art.
The songs that I am checking DO have album artwork on my home PC and when played just through the ipod, not hooked up to anything.
I do not understand Tyler’s answer. Can anyone clarify?
I have it figured out. It wasn’t exactly what wattsy suggested but it did put me on the right track. I wanted to share the answer in case anyone else has this problem. itunes appears to be finding the art each time I load it instead of actually downloading it. So I right click on the art itunes has provided select copy, select all the songs on the album, right click, get info and paste it into the artwork field for the whole album. It seems to be working most of the time. Thanks all for your help.

Do all the songs in your library HAVE album art. Itunes might have synced the album art but that doesn’t mean it found art for every song in your library. In fact, for me, I find that it doesn’t find much at all. You may have to manually go back and copy and paste album artwork in. I usually copy and paste from amazon..

Most likely what is happening is that iTunes can recognize the identifier code from the songs that you have purchased through them and thus can grab and display the correct album artwork while the other songs it cannot identify because they are generic mp3 files and thus will not display the artwork.

I’m not positive, but that would be my guess.

that happened exactly to me if once you put the song on your ipod you have to copy the album artwork and copy it in the song on your ipod it should work

Right. I’m gunna have a ***** at explaining this.
What’s happened is; the songs on your iTunes all have had Album art put on them. But you’ve obviously done this AFTER you’ve put the songs on your iPod. Therefore; when playing music at home the artwork is showing up. When your at work playing your music FROM YOUR iPOD, the album art isnt there.
Simple solution is to remove ALL OF THE SONGS on your iPod, then resync everything in your library onto your iPod and walla! It should have worked (:
